About Locksheath Gordon Setters

The Affix Locksheath was registered late 1999 by Frances Bastable, and in 2017 Keith became a shared interest holder in the affix. In July 2020 Frances passed the affix to Keith  wholly and he will now take the Locksheath kennel forward both with the show scene and the breeding of the next generations.

Both Frances,  Keith and Cari are very passionate about Gordon Setters and are very keen to help in keeping the breed strong with continued improvements to health and general well being,

Keith and Cari are active in the show world and occasionally we breed litters when we plan to keep a dog to enter into the show scene. Click Here to find more information about our puppies.

All of our dogs live their lives in our family homes with us as part of our respective families, and first and foremost are much-loved family pets who enjoy a happy and fulfilling life with us.

Myself and Cari have owned English Setters for many years and still have one in our family home to date.  We are also owned by four amazing Gordon Setters, Skye, Summer and her daughters Autumn & Winter.

After a couple of years enjoying our first Gordon (Skye)  I decided that I would like to start showing this wonderful breed, We brought Summer into our home and I starting training with her and introduced Summer and myself into the show scene in 2017 and have been hooked from that moment on.  I have learnt so much about Gordon Setters from training and talking to other Gordon owners and am continually learning about this wonderful breed,  I am an active member the British Gordon Setter Club and part of the committee team and will continue to promote our breed to the best of my ability, as well as picking up more important knowledge from the club committee and its members. Gordons really are special to us and both myself and Cari devote our lives to this breed.

Check out the News/Blog page to see what we've been up to.

I have owned Setters for over 40 years and registered my original Affix in 1975, when I owned , bred and showed Irish Setters.

My first litter of Gordons produced Top Puppy, Locksheath Yarra Glen (Dram) and Runner Up, Locksheath Toolangi (Bracken) in 2003, and in 2007 I was delighted to have made up Toolangi  our first Home bred Show Champion.
